As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the supply of Birch plywood into Australia has been severely impacted. Price increases have been felt, while inconsistency in grade from one supplier to another have impacted on market confidence.
With this in mind, we set to work to find a reliable, long-term and value-for-money alternative to Russian Birch plywood. This included significant R&D, extensive sampling and numerous factory visits for quality assurance.
The result is our Baltic Birch plywood – total Birch construction with high quality multi-ply edge detail with thicker, patch-free faces and backs, available from 4mm to 30mm in B/BB and overlay grades.
