Pine, hoop (Quarter)

Hoop pine (quarter) - Timber Veneer, Plywood Species

While the name ‘Hoop Pine’ suggests it is a member of the pinus species, it is not. It merely looks like a pine and as a result was given its often misleading common name. In application, Hoop Pine is a far superior species. It is a large softwood native to northern New South Wales and Queensland with a very fine and even texture. It is a well-loved, much respected and consistent performer.
