Marri (Crown)

A large hardwood occurring in the Jarrah and Karri forests of south-west Western Australia, Marri is famous for its defects, specifically a rich dark-red coloured gum and the contrasting colours of the heartwood. Where such defects are usually avoided in other species, in Marri the result is a beautifully contrasting colour spectrum, giving projects a rustic, natural and warm feel.
