While Black Bean has been found scattered through northern New South Wales, it is synonymous with North Queensland. As with other species from this region, its prevalence as a veneer has diminished with the heritage listing of much of its habitat. The species is famous for its iconic dark colour, straight grain and at times, prominent and attractive figure.
