Hoop Pine FR Panel

Hoop Pine is a much-loved and respected mainstay of the Australian veneer landscape, most often featured as rotary veneer or plywood.

Changes to the Building Code of Australia (BCA) in 2019 relating to fire safety meant that regular Hoop Pine plywood and Hoop Pine veneer on standard MDF, and classified as Group 3, were no longer permitted in many applications in Class 2-9 (non-residential buildings).

Matilda Veneer is proud to complement its range of Hoop Pine plywood with select grade rotary veneer in Hoop Pine. These veneers are peeled at 0.6mm, making excellent use of wood fibre and providing exceptional value when compared to solid timber or plywood. These veneers are then pressed to a fire retardant substrate creating a finished product that looks and feels like Hoop Pine plywood but critically is certified as Group 2 meaning it can be used in most areas of most buildings where Hoop Pine plywood and Hoop Pine veneer on standard MDF are not permitted.
